Upper Saddle River is a suburban community located in northern New Jersey just 25 miles from New York City with a population of approximately 8,200. The Upper Saddle River School District serves approximately 1,200 pre-kindergarten through eighth grade children; the high school students attend Northern Highlands Regional High School in neighboring Allendale.

Students attend one of three schools conveniently located on the same spacious campus. Reynolds School is home to our primary students in pre-school through grade 2 and houses our award-winning junior kindergarten program. Bogert School serves students in grades 3-5 and was recently awarded the honor of being named a National School of Character. Cavallini Middle School is home to children in grades 6-8 and features comprehensive academic and co-curricular programs. The school district features all-day kindergarten, a television studio, an outdoor science center, a middle school interscholastic athletic program, state of the art technology, DARE drug/alcohol abuse programs, high academic standards, good class size, and strong support services. The district maintains a commitment to student wellness through physical education, visual and performing arts, and strong support staff.

The schools were expanded in 2001 to meet the increasing enrollment, the need for small group instructional space, and growing commitment to technology. In 2008, the voters approved the Green Referendum that included solar panels and a new roof for the middle school, as well as other energy saving renovations to the other schools. The district completed the projects in 2009 and is realizing significant savings in energy costs. Through strong Board commitment and support from the Borough of Upper Saddle River, the facilities and grounds are in excellent condition. Students living more than two miles from school are transported. For those families living within two miles, transportation is available on a subscription service basis.

Our parent support groups are outstanding; their volunteer efforts and financial support are extensive. The Parent Teacher Organization and the Upper Saddle River Educational Foundation have provided new facilities for the district including four STEM Labs, a renovated auditorium and state of the art fitness center, a Learning Habitat where science comes alive for our students and an Anytime/Anywhere Learning initiative involving the issuance of personal computing devices to our students beginning in grade 4.

Academically, our student performance is strong; expectations for all students are high and the district continues a commitment to differentiating to meet the different learning styles and needs of all students.
