New Hanover Township

The New Hanover Township School is a vibrant community of enthusiastic learners and educators. Since implementing major changes to our academic program, student achievement has grown exponentially. At NHTS, we do not allow better to slow our never yielding push toward great. In the past year alone, the district established a new shared agreement for outstanding Child Study Team services with the North Hanover Township School District, increased opportunities for all students by expanding our co-teaching program, raised participation in our federally-funded after school and summer school tutoring programs, achieved high student growth and proficiency rates on the PARCC assessments, decreased student achievement gaps while increasing overall performance, piloted a new standards-aligned, formative assessment tool, achieved 100% participation in the PARCC exam, and provided Chromebooks to each middle school student to expand our educational technology infrastructure.

Outside of school, our students are supported by a thriving Board of Education and dedicated Parent Teacher Organization. We have also established partnerships with Rutgers University and the Wrightstown/Cookstown Municipal Alliance to support educational and social opportunities for all students. Students can also participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities including athletics, student governance, and service learning.

Looking forward, the district will continue to provide world-class, rigorous instruction in a small setting that creates a 7 to 1 student/teacher ratio. In this structure, each our dedicated staff provides each student with the type of individualized instruction needed to excel. The New Hanover Township School is proud to be a community of celebration and inspiration. Our accomplishments are further proof that nothing worth doing has ever been done easily.
