Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members:

It is my pleasure to invite you to review the New Jersey Performance Report for the Haddon Township Schools. It presents a comprehensive summary of data that describe student achievement, curriculum, co-curricular activities, staffing, and budget. Each school’s report includes a narrative that will provide you with a more complete picture of all that we strive to provide for our children.

The Haddon Township School District serves the children of our community in grades pre-school through 12, in 7 schools throughout the township. An active and involved 9 member elected Board of Education volunteers to oversee the governance of the district. We pride ourselves on our neighborhood elementary school design, a middle school developed on a highly research-based model, and a comprehensive high school. Following a core mission that ensures safe, structured environments where every child can thrive, flourish and succeed, our district is a true “gem” in Camden County.

Our tradition of excellence reflects hallmarks of organizational design, including an exceptional teaching and support staff and an instructional program that routinely challenges our students through a broad, standards-based curriculum that encourages hands-on, discovery-based, inquiry-oriented learning. We pride ourselves on providing many opportunities for students to excel in academics, aesthetics, and athletics as we work with families to ensure our learners become confident, competent, and successful citizens. To that end, while our overall performance on state mandated assessments is typically strong, we also are gratified by the many examples of community service in which our students and staff are involved. We applaud our teachers, often recognized by their colleagues statewide for their accomplishments, and we are proud of an instructional program that flourishes because we provide rich professional development for our staff, ensuring that teachers have the tools needed to support quality teaching and learning. Yet another point of pride is our Fine and Performing Arts Department, which encourages participation at all levels, provides multiple opportunities for diverse learning experiences in the arts, and awards individual excellence. Additionally, our school district has infused personal computing devices into the instructional program. With every teacher district-wide and every student in grades 3-12 using a district owned iPad, our staff and students have limitless capabilities for collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Finally, our athletes have been honored frequently with the Sportsmanship Award for the Colonial Conference and continue to meet with success both on and off of the field.

It is my great privilege to be the Superintendent of the Haddon Township Public School District, a learning organization led by excellent administrators and staff who make unique contributions every day to ensure each student succeeds.

Feel free to contact me with any compliments, concerns, or issues.
