Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) is a full-time comprehensive high school preparing students for college and career readiness, necessary for the 21st Century workplace. GCIT offers 11 career theme programs, supported by rigorous College Preparatory, Honors or College Credited academic courses. Each program design is comprised of an advisory board to assist in focusing on high academic, behavior and industry standards. All of our full time students have the opportunity to earn up to 20 concurrent, articulated, academic college credits, by their junior year. Many students will earn up to 30 concurrent, articulated, college credits within their chosen field of study, by their junior year. All seniors will have the option to pursue an Associate's Degree, while earning a high school diploma.

GCIT was recognized as a Star School and Best Practice Award winner by the New Jersey Department of Education and a recipient of the Aldo Papone Award for Leadership from the National Academy Foundation.

As one of the top performing schools in Gloucester County, GCIT continues to collaborate and partner with the National Academy Foundation (NAF), Model Schools, Workforce Investment Board (WIB), Local Unions and Industry leaders. Articulation agreements have been developed with Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC), Atlantic Cape Community College, Camden County College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Johnson & Wales University, Neumann University, Rowan University, Rutgers University, Stockton University, University of Maryland, and Wilmington University on behalf of our students. These agreements offer our students the opportunity to earn concurrent college credits in their chosen career pathway in the Academy of Allied Health and Medical Science, the Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Finance and Business Management, the Academy of Information Technology and Digital Communications, the School of Construction Technology, the School of Cosmetology, the School of Culinary Arts, the School of Performing Arts-Dance and Drama, the School of Transportation Technology, Shared Time-Emergency Response & Fire Science and Law Enforcement.

GCIT cultivates student involvement in student government, athletics (Tri-County Conference, Olympic Conference, and New Jersey Technical Athletic Conference) and Career Technical Organizations (CTSO's). The Athletic Department at GCIT offers our students the opportunity to participate in 13 varsity teams, as well as junior varsity and freshmen sports.

Our commitment and dedication to community service is exemplified by our strong student membership in the following organizations: National Honor Society (NHS) and National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Thespian Society and SkillsUSA.

New GCIT Collegiate High School on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) SY 2015-16.

Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) in conjunction with the Gloucester County Vocational Technical School District (GCVTSD), will provide all students the opportunity to be matriculated into regularly scheduled courses at RCGC during their senior year. Each senior year curriculum will provide coursework options that contribute to credits applied toward a selected Associate's Degree at RCGC. This innovative program provides an alternative pathway to a quality college education at significant cost savings to our families living in Gloucester County.
