Boonton Town School District (27-0450)

Boonton Town School District

The Boonton Public School District, located in Morris County, serves ~ 1,400 students in a PK-12 setting. Our schools recognize and provide for the diverse needs of the students through a variety of comprehensive programs and services. Having been distinguished as a “High Performing School District” by the New Jersey Department of Education, we are proud of the way our students, parents, faculty and Board of Education work together in an environment of trust and respect with a common goal of educational excellence. Each school is a supportive learning community where children feel challenged by a climate of high academic expectations and strive to achieve this each and every day.

Students in the Boonton Schools are provided with a variety of in-depth experiences including those which involve creative thinking and problem solving strategies. District-wide curriculum, instructional, and professional development efforts are data driven and evaluated regularly. Student achievement is our top priority in the areas of academics, athletics, and in the fine and performing arts.

Our Gateway Academy challenges the gifted learners at Boonton High School and is approved as a NJ Inter-District School Choice program. A range of Advanced Placement and Middle College courses enable students to earn dual high school and college credits. We also provide supplemental instruction programs for our students who need academic assistance and utilize Effective School Solutions in conjunction with our Special Services department to provide exceptional social-emotional support. The Leader in Me program is integrated into all aspects of our elementary learning, helping students to develop leadership and life skills.

The Boonton School district is fortunate to have the support and cooperation of its community. Our schools reflect the community ideal which supports the concept that individual student achievement and success is a cooperative effort between parents and educators. The Boonton Parent Teacher Association and the Boonton High School Home and School Association selflessly donate time, resources, and financial support to our schools. Our participation in the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce keeps u in constant contact with local businesses and the town governments offices to collaboratively provide learning opportunities for our children both in and out of the classroom.

Our district website http://www.boontonschools.org contains an abundance of resources for both our students, parents and prospective community members. Our online Student and Parent Portal provides 24/7 access to schedules, grades and assignments in order to give our students every chance to succeed via the medium they have grown up with as digital natives.
