Boonton High School

Boonton High School, located in Morris County, New Jersey serves approximately 600 students in grades 9-12 and is comprised of two municipalities; the towns of Boonton and Lincoln Park. Boonton High School provides a comprehensive, rigorous and relevant educational experience for each and every one of our students. The faculty, administration and staff work collaboratively to help each student reach his/her fullest potential.

To provide individualized attention to our students, Boonton High School uses a grade level Dean of Program structure. Each dean, accompanied by a partnering guidance counselor, oversees the academic, social and emotional well-being of all students. Each dean/guidance counselor team loops with their assigned grade level from entrance into high school through graduation. Our unique structure provides students with the post-graduation skills necessary to be successful members of society.

Boonton High School makes a point to offer rigorous academic programs to meet the needs and interests of all students. Our Gateway Academy is designed to meet the needs of our academically talented learners. Gateway students participate in mentoring programs and enrichment projects. They are also required to take a combination of 8 Advanced Placement & Dual Credit classes, allowing them to earn college credits and graduate with 145 credits, as opposed to New Jersey’s 120 credit requirement. Upon graduation, Gateway students have the potential to earn up to one year of college credits.

Communication with parents and the community is vital to our school’s success. Boonton High School uses an online portal system which gives parents and students instant access to attendance, grades, homework, and school notifications.

Boonton High School continues to keep pace with the necessary technology needs of today. All students in grades 9, 10, & 11 are provided with wi-fi enabled devices. All classrooms are equipped with 60-inch interactive Aquos boards. Staff and students take full advantage of Google Apps for Education, allowing for a more collaborative learning environment.

Receiving multiple NJSIAA Sportsmanship Awards over the last several years, the athletic program at Boonton High School is rich in tradition and pride. Extra-curricular involvement requires meeting all criteria of the NJSIAA (www.njsiaa.org) and complying with our athletic code of conduct. These sports, programs, clubs, and activities not only allow students to work with their peers outside the classroom, but also provide opportunities in leadership, travel, and community involvement.
