Kinnelon School District (27-2460)

Kinnelon School District

Kinnelon Public School District is composed of approximately 2000 students in pre-K-12. Kiel School is the primary school grades pre-kindergarten through second grade; Stonybrook School is primarily and upper elementary school that serves students in grades three through five but also houses three sections of neighborhood kindergarten; Pearl R. Miller Middle School serves students in grades six through eight; and Kinnelon High School is a comprehensive high school for grades nine through twelve. In addition, the Special Services Department provides a continuum of programs, placements, and related services to meet the needs of children who are eligible to receive special education services. The district also has English as a Second Language Program for eligible students.

We are very proud our staff. Approximately 275 educators, secretaries, custodians, and paraprofessionals assure that our students receive the best possible education in a warm, nurturing environment. Kinnelon is also fortunate to have parents and community members who are interested and involved in the education of their children. In addition to classroom volunteers, we have many parents serving on district-wide committees

Our Home and School Associations continue to support our schools and our students through their generosity and mini-grants programs. In the 2016-2017 school year, the Kinnelon Elementary HSA supplied iPad carts and other technology as well as back to school supplies for each classroom, a drawstring knapsack for every student in kindergarten through grade five, and library support for each classroom. The middle school HSA funded mini-grants for teachers and donated a new laptop cart. The high school HSA provided scholarships to many graduating seniors, funded a variety of supplies and services through their expanding mini-grant program, provided gifts for the Valedictorian and Salutatorian, donated the field scoreboard and provided food for the very successful First Annual Inter-generational Prom.

The Kinnelon Public School District's reputation is built upon a legacy of providing an exceptional education for all of our children. For the past decade Kinnelon High School has been recognized in Newsweek as one of the Top High Schools in the nation and NJ Monthly ranked Kinnelon High School at number 3 in 2016 and has consistently ranked us in the top 25 schools in NJ for the past 10 years. People move to Kinnelon to enjoy the outstanding quality of life in the community and enroll their children in one of the finest educational systems in the state.
