Lincoln Park School District

The Lincoln Park School District is located in the Northeast section of Morris County in the Borough of Lincoln Park. The Lincoln Park Public School District includes two schools offering a comprehensive education to children in grades pre-K through 8. The district schools are the Lincoln Park Elementary School, serving approximately 530 children, and the Lincoln Park Middle School, serving approximately 400 children. Lincoln Park participates in a sending-receiving relationship with Boonton High School, which offers a comprehensive educational program for children in grades 9 through 12. The Lincoln Park School District sends approximately 290 students to Boonton High School. Approximately 70 high school age students attend The Academies of Morris County.

The district possesses an enthusiastic and motivated staff who work together to maintain an environment conducive to academic excellence. Emphasis is placed on continual growth and development, and the Lincoln Park School District faculty takes advantage of many professional development opportunities including workshops, seminars, conferences, and graduate courses. Many of our teachers have received advanced degrees in order to better serve our students. The staff consistently looks for strategies and new instructional methodology to better meet the needs of each and every unique child in the district. These staff members provide a quality education in a safe and supportive environment.

The Lincoln Park Board of Education is just as committed as the staff to providing a quality education to the community, while still being conscious of the financial constraints on the community. The BOE is committed to hiring the highest quality educators and providing the teaching staff with the equipment and materials needed to perform their jobs at the highest level. The BOE provides the support needed to ensure that the students receive a quality education while helping them to become successful adults. Each year the BOE attempts to make improvements to the academic programs, as well as to the physical components of the schools. The economic times have made this task difficult, but the BOE continues to move forward in their mission. The curriculum continues to be updated, to align with the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Improving the technology throughout the district continues to be a major focus in the district. Both schools have increased the number of laptops, tablets, and interactive boards that are available for instruction in both schools. The District is continuing the implementation of a 1:1 tablet program in the middle school again this year, with all 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and their teachers being issued an iPad for the school year. Along with the hardware and infrastructure, the district is also improving the amount of educational programs both in house and web based that are available to both the staff and students. These improvements have also allowed the district to administer the PARCC Assessments last year with minimal issues. The physical make-up of the school is continuing to be addressed through continued maintenance. Over the past several years improvements and upgrades have been made to the HVAC system, roofing, paving, lighting, windows, and doors. Security upgrades continue to take place, assuring the students and staff a safe educational environment.

The district is continuing to utilize the State approved evaluation system for the instructional staff during the 2016-17 school year. This system continues to assist both the administration and the teaching staff in improving instruction in the classroom. The teaching staff and administrative staff are continuing to use the information gathered to improve instruction within the district.

The Lincoln Park School District provides a positive educational environment. The district offers a safe, student-centered atmosphere with an excellent curriculum and many student services. We are proud of our students, staff, and our community. The School Board, administrators, and teachers are committed to providing the children of the Borough with a quality education that will assist them in leading rewarding, productive, and responsible lives now and in the future.
