Madison Public School District (27-2870)

Madison Public School District

Madison Borough School District is a proud and progressive educational learning community. Students in our five schools receive an education that is differentiated to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. The district infuses cooperative learning exercises, character education, and 21st century skills within the curricula and delivery of instructional services.

Our class sizes are reflective of the community's strong commitment to educating tomorrow's society. Faculty and staff work collegially to hone their teaching skills and to inspire students at the elementary, middle, and high school level. Over 70% of our teachers possess advanced degrees, and each satisfies the Highly Qualified Teacher standard.

Madison delivers a comprehensive K-12 program of studies within all areas of the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards and New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Gifted and Talented opportunities are made available beginning at the elementary level, as are special needs and Basic Skills, which are addressed and individualized for eligible students. Academically, the district has surpassed its local, district factor group, and state counterparts in virtually every benchmark set by the state via standardized assessments. Madison High School was honored with the distinction of being ranked one of the top high schools in the state of New Jersey. The class of 2016 garnered millions in academic and other scholarships. Student academic achievement is complemented by a phenomenal array of athletic and extra-curricular opportunities.

The district is poised to be once again a standard-bearer in the area of progressive education. During the 2015-16 academic term, Madison initiated a multi-year one-to-one Chromebook approach to the teaching and learning process. Faculty, parents, and students create a dialog that is aimed at best practice approaches in each and every classroom. Together with phenomenal support from the Board of Education and community at large, Madison Borough School District aims to become the beacon on the hill; a light that will guide all practitioners through the 21st century.
