Pequannock Township, a community located in northeastern Morris County, is comprised of two communities, Pompton Plains and Pequannock. Serving just over 2200 students, Pequannock Township School District, a Pre-K-12 school district, delivers a high quality education throughout the district’s five schools: three elementary schools (pre-k to grade 5) Stephen J. Gerace, Hillview, and North Boulevard; one middle school (grades 6 to 8), Pequannock Valley and Pequannock Township High School (grades 9 to 12).

Pequannock Township School District, a dynamic community, is dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of each student. The Board of Education, school administration, staff and community are united in their dedication to maintaining a challenging educational program in an effective and safe learning environment. We strive to embrace the most current research based instruction focusing on authentic and meaningful lessons.

The district is committed to preparing our students for the global marketplace. This is evidenced in expansion of our comprehensive pre K-12 program of studies with the addition of a STEM Academy at the high school, additional AP Courses and a Structured Learning Experience (SLE). These offerings are designed to allow our students to explore future college and career interests. Our Pre-K-12 classrooms are designed to promote hands-on learning, student engagement, and career development in technology enriched environment. Other curriculum development, upgrades in facilities and technology combine to provide for 21st century learning opportunities to meet our student’s interests and abilities across our pre K – 12 program of studies. Students at all grades and ability levels have opportunities to explore a wide range of elective courses. The implementation of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards has been our focus and the preparation of our students as we ensure that they are equipped with college and career readiness skills and knowledge.

Our students also enjoy a variety of co- and extra-curricular activities. Students have numerous opportunities to excel in the arts, athletics, academic competitions and performances. Our students have earned state, local and county recognition as they display excellent academic ability and sportsmanship as students and as members of our various clubs and teams and as representative of our school district.

Pequannock Township is a community rich in tradition. Our community demonstrates their continual support for the Pequannock Golden Panthers in successful public votes on the recent referendums. Pequannock Township celebrates the recent NJQSAC rating of “High Performing” by the New Jersey Department of Education and the strong connections found in this unique community.
