Manchester Township School District (29-2940)

Manchester Township School District

The Manchester Township School District provides a quality education to over 3,100 students from Pre-K to grade 12. In addition to three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, the district has the administrative responsibility for the State Regional Day School located in Jackson, New Jersey.

The district’s overall financial situation is characterized by stability and sensibility. We are offering a quality education that is affordable to our community. This outstanding record of fiscal responsibility has earned our district the certificate of excellence in financial accounting for the past seventeen years.

The excellent fiscal record is complemented by an outstanding educational program. The instruction is provided by a highly skilled professional staff that utilizes a variety of instructional strategies that meet the individual needs of all of our students. Our staff also takes advantage of an excellent professional development program throughout the year to continue to grow professionally and provide our students with a quality education.

The district recently completed a Strategic Plan to identify priorities and take steps to address those areas over a specific period of time. The plan was developed through input from parents, community members, administration, instructional staff, students and Board of Education members. This committee continues to meet throughout the year to modify and identify new issues to be addressed.

In addition to an excellent educational program, students in the Manchester School District have many extracurricular activity programs such as athletics, academic clubs, and music opportunities to name a few.

Our students are encouraged to participate in sports programs and club activities throughout the district. Our students also understand the importance of “giving back” to the community. They have raised thousands of dollars for the American Heart Association and participate in programs like “Kevin’s Kids” and “Feed the Hungry” that help local needy families. For the past several year, our district hosted a Relay for Life Program that recognized survivors in our community, provided important information on cancer prevention and raised funds for cancer research. These are only a few of the examples of our student’s service to the community. In return, we have many community volunteers who serve as mentors in our elementary schools to assist our students in their education and serve as excellent role models

Parents and community members are encouraged to play an active part in the Manchester Township School District. They receive district information through our district website, the district television channel and our district newsletter. Parents receive information on student progress through an online parent portal and individual teacher websites. Additionally, they are encouraged to participate in the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee. Our School District also reaches out to our senior communities through our Intergenerational Club at the High School and by providing entertainment throughout the year with our Music and Drama Departments. Many of our senior citizens volunteer to mentor our students, particularly in the elementary schools.

The Manchester Township School District continues to have a supportive and cooperative relationships with the Township and the Police Department. We participate in many collaborative projects with the Township as well as developing safety initiatives and programs with the Manchester Township Police Department to ensure the safety of students, staff and parents.
The PTA is an integral part of our district and contributes to the success of our programs by providing funds for equipment and educational programs. Additionally, the Manchester Township Education Foundation donates money to our teachers for technology and innovative programs.

The Manchester School District is a special place that provides our students a quality education, offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities and understands its commitment to the entire community.
