Stafford Township School District

The Stafford Township School District is a Preschool through Sixth Grade district, located in Southern Ocean County that is committed to the mission of providing a secure, nurturing environment that fosters positive self-image of our students and promotes mastery of the New Jersey Core Content Standards while encouraging students to become lifelong learners in a global society.

The district is dedicated to offering a variety of programs and resources to accommodate the individualized instructional, social, and emotional needs of our students The district is always looking to expand the technology available to our students; we have a 1:1 ChromeBook Initiative for students in grades one through six. These ChromeBooks assist students in acquiring technology skills necessary for the 21st century. All of our classrooms are equipped with interactive projector technology and document cameras as well. The district provides a high quality preschool program for preschool handicapped as well as tuition students. The program is comprehensive and focuses on the social, emotional, physical, and academic development of the child by providing developmentally appropriate educational experiences.

In the Spring of 2010, NJDOE joined the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career (PARCC). PARCC is a common set of K-12 assessments in language arts and math aligned to the Common Core State Standards. These new assessments will mark students’ progress and provide teachers with timely information to inform instruction and provide student support. The PARCC assessments will be administered to students in grades 3 – 6, during the 2015-16 school year. Stafford has aligned the curriculum in English Language Arts and Mathematics to the Common Core Standards and is working toward aligning classroom materials and technology to help prepare students for the PARCC assessments and to be career and college ready.

Stafford is also immersed in the implementation of Achieve NJ. Achieve NJ requires schools to look at multiple measures of teacher practice and student performance to determine teacher effectiveness. Teacher practice is measured by performance on a teacher practice instrument, which is used to gather evidence primarily through classroom observations

The Business Office strives to increase efficiency in many different areas. Stafford participated in several shared service cooperatives, an energy management program, and solar energy projects. Through partnership with local community groups, valuable learning opportunities have been provided to students at no cost to the district.

The Stafford Township School District is proud of the educational environment that we have developed from collaboration and cooperation between teachers, support staff, administrators, board of education members, and community. We will continue to work together to ensure a successful academic experience for all of our students.
