Bedminster Township Public School

Bedminster Township School is a public school that serves students in Pre-K through Eighth grade. We are dedicated to instilling a passion for learning and exploration in a creative, nurturing environment. Our students enjoy a wide range of educational programs and activities including inquiry-based science, honors humanities, honors science, technology, art technology, applied technology, algebra, library media technology, Spanish and French. Our English Language Arts program (ELA), at all grade levels, strives to instill a love of reading non-fiction and fiction while also developing strong writing skills.

The infusion of technology, STE(A)M, character education, financial literacy and career awareness, into daily lessons and across all curricular areas, provides students with many opportunities to enhance 21st century skills and utilize the latest technologies as meaningful and effective educational tools to better prepare them for the technological world in which we live.

For students who may need academic, social or emotional support, our school provides child study team services, elementary and middle school guidance counselors, English as a Second Language, academic support instruction, occupational and physical therapy, behavioral support, special education programming and related services.

Besides the strong core subject area experiences, students are exposed to the visual and performing arts. Health and physical education classes infuse character education along with cross curricular lessons for all grade levels.
There is a full-array of after-school, extra-curricular activities for students including, but not limited to, drama club, cooking club, chess club, arts and crafts club, technology club, Lego club, Robotics club, writing club, science club, an instrumental music program that includes a school band, jazz band and string orchestra, ski club and various athletic teams.

Academically, Bedminster adheres to a multi-year curriculum revision cycle which allows us to maintain vigorous and up-to-date programs that are aligned with the latest standards.

The foundation for achieving excellence is evident through the Board of Education’s steadfast support of small class sizes, technology as an instructional tool and continued teacher professional growth. We recently concluded a district-wide differentiated instruction training initiative for all teachers. Our teaching staff is fully supported by the administrative team.

Our faculty members are committed to the constant improvement of their instructional skills and the acquisition of new strategies that are supported by an intensive plan of professional development, self-reflection and collaboration.

Bedminster’s Board is firm in its resolve to embrace the shared values of the community and encourages community input for strategic planning and decisions about educational programs. Stakeholders are well represented on school district committees that may include, DEAC, ScIP, Technology Committee, Municipal Alliance, Garden Committee, Before and Aftercare Committee and/or the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Committee. Bedminster Township School has also been awarded a Safety Grant again this year from NJ Schools Insurance Group. We are currently collaborating with The Purnell School and Somerset Hills Learning Institute on future initiatives that will benefit the students of our Bedminster community.

The backbone to our outstanding parental involvement though, is the Parent Teacher Organization, whose members have been tremendously helpful with time, talent and resources. They have supported the school by enhancing academic programs, providing special programs, activities, and many holiday celebrations. We are currently in the initial phase of beginning an educational foundation that will support the students and staff in the Bedminster School District.

After being promoted from the 8th grade, the majority of our students attend Bernards High School. We work closely with their teaching staff and administration to ensure that our curriculum is fully articulated and that our students receive the highest level of preparation for their secondary school experience.
