Lenape Valley Regional High School

Lenape Valley Regional High School is a comprehensive, academic high school serving approximately 800 students in grades 9 through 12 from Byram Township and Stanhope Borough in Sussex County and from Netcong Borough in Morris County. Two hundred students graduated in the Class of 2016. In 2011, Lenape Valley Regional High School was designated as a “Choice School District”. To graduate, students must complete a minimum of 140 credits and complete 40 hours of service learning/community service.

Lenape Valley is accredited by the Middle Atlantic States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the New Jersey Department of Education. Lenape Valley is also a member of the College Entrance Examination Board, the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling.

With its tradition of being an academic high school that prepares students for college career choices, Lenape Valley offers courses in Art, Business, Information & Technology, Media Communication, English, Family and Consumer Science, Industrial Technology, Computer Programming, Music, Physical Education, Science and Social Studies, providing a balance to academic programs. A full year course is 5 or 6 credits; a half year course equals 2.5 credits. All classes are 56 minutes in length except for longer laboratory periods. All students are required to complete 40 hours of service learning/community services for graduation.

Several concurrent classes are offered, in conjunction with Sussex County Community College and Syracuse University's Project Advance, providing students the opportunity to earn college credits while in attendance at Lenape Valley Regional High School, including: US History, Spanish, Financial Accounting II Honors, Sociology, and English.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in: English Literature, English Language, Biology, Calculus, Economics, U.S. History, European History, Geography, Spanish, Chemistry, Physics, Government, Psychology, and Environmental Science.

A comprehensive program of co-curricular activities is offered including: Student Government, Yearbook, Literary Magazine, Mock Trial, Academic Quiz Bowl, Interact Club, Peer Leadership, Choir, Marching Band, Jazz Band, DECA, FBLA, Theatre, German Folk Club, Gifted and Talented, International Friendship Circle, Math League, Patriot Press, and Ski Club. Athletics include: basketball, baseball, cross country, field hockey, football, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track bowling and wrestling.
