The Stanhope School District continues to make dynamic changes to improve instruction and culture. Graduating eighth graders qualified for honors Geometry at the rate of over 50%, over 97% of fourth graders were proficient and advanced proficient on the NJASK Science assessment, and 89% of third graders read at or above grade level. Students in grades PreK-8 participated in a wide variety of program snot only with peers but with students from the regional high school to develop character education skills and career readiness skills to interact with fellow students and adults. The signature program entitled “Gossip Free Starts with Me” was a community wide program that improved personal relationships and built school wide spirit. These programs again helped reduced the habitual absence down to just above five percent.
The district also improved instruction by transitioning to an online curriculum program that coordinates lesson plans, resources, curriculum mapping and standards to support student development and provide ongoing feedback to teachers in delivering data driven instruction. The school also continued partnerships with several private learning organizations to provide professional development for all staff in the district.
Upon graduation, most of Stanhope’s students attend the Lenape Valley Regional High School. The Sussex County Technical School and a several parochial/private schools are also available in the area.

The following report card report contains categories selected by the New Jersey Department of Education to reflect what they consider information that will give you a profile of our school. While our own analysis shows strengths and area for improvement, the district is actively taking steps that we hope will advance our programs.
