Roselle Park Board of Education

The Roselle Park School District is a high performing Pre-K-12 district. During the 2015-2016 school year, the district enrolled approximately 2050 students. Our districts mission is to provide personalized, exemplary learning experiences for the optimal development of students, enabling them to become life-long learners and contributing members of a diverse and changing society. We firmly believe that all children can learn. The Roselle Park School District provides its students with a nurturing environment whereby all children can grow, enhance their self-worth and succeed academically. We value a collaborative and cooperative culture between staff, students, parents, and community. Thus, we strive to cultivate a positive environment where teaching and learning is valued, one that celebrates students individual talents.

Our district curriculum is aligned to the Common Core Content Standards, and to best practices as identified by educational research. Roselle Park continually strives to provide its students with a quality education and to meet the state mandates. The staff works collaboratively as a team for the purpose of student success. It is dedicated to advancing student achievement by creating a productive learning environment that provides a host of programs and school activities. During the 2015 school year, the Roselle Park School District embarked in a 1:1 initiative in grades 6-8 providing students the opportunity to have their own device. Additionally, the districts language arts and math initiatives are research based and provide students comprehensive instructional materials and resources.

Roselle Park’s professional development program plays a significant role in the outstanding accomplishments of our district. One of the cornerstones of the program is the belief that the professional development of teachers is the key to an excellent instructional program. During 2015-2016, our staff participated in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to share ideas and learning through engagement in intellectual dialogue. Our staff received training in district initiatives particularly in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. Job embedded professional development was on integral component of the district’s Professional Development Plan. In addition, a variety of summer workshop sessions were offered to teachers interested in further developing these teaching skills.

The 2015 – 2016 school year offered numerous opportunities for parents to become involved in our schools. We strongly believe that parents are our partners in their child’s education. Our PTA’s are extremely active and, in addition to their generous support of our schools, annually organize a wide variety of educationally related programs.

At Roselle Park, we expect our students to maintain high standards to ensure that they are prepared for the challenges of the 21st century, a competitive, global, and technological world.
