KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT (41-2470)

KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT

Our district is located in the northwest portion of Warren County along the Delaware River. We believe that our school district is special in many ways and that our commitment to education contributes to the success of our school and our students.
Our enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year included 200 students in grades Preschool through 6th and our average class size was 15. Our small size and the dedication of our well-trained staff and active parents contribute to a very nurturing environment. We have a supportive PTO that supports school activities and funds wish lists for teachers. Our administrative leadership is committed to the academic, social and emotional development of each student. The mission statement for the school was revised in October 2015 through the Strategic Planning process. It reads: We are committed to provide an engaging, comprehensive education aligned with the Common Core Standards in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment in which all students are encouraged to be critical thinkers and self advocates. Instilling a passions for learning will inspire and guide students to become responsible and compassionate citizens in a constantly changing world. Students have the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential both here and in their future education while developing confidence, competence and character.
The school curriculum is regularly reviewed and revised to meet the needs of our students and state requirements. The curriculum has been carefully and thoroughly aligned with the revised New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards (NJCCCS) and the Common Core State Standards in both Math and Language Arts Literacy. Our staff meets frequently to develop curriculum and assess progress and individual needs in all subject areas. Our Board of Education provides opportunities and funding to all staff for continuous professional development.
In the 2015-2016 school year, our school was staffed by 13 homeroom teachers, 6 special education teachers and specialists in Basic Skills, Response to Intervention, Art Music, Media/Library, Physical Education, Health, World Language, Technology Education, Speech/Language, Counseling, Gifted and Talented and Child Study Team Services. Our professional staff combines their years of experience with knowledge of current educational trends, an understanding of learner needs and motivation, as well as the desire to provide a comprehensive educational program which meet state and local goals.
We continuously work toward improving our educational programs by aligning curriculum and instructional practices with standards in an effort to raise student achievement.
