Oxford Township School District

The Oxford Township School District, a progressive district located in Warren County New Jersey, is built on the foundation of strong community support, an enthusiastic and concerned Board of Education and the dedication of a wonderful staff. We are proud of our status as an Interdistrict School Choice District and we look forward to continued great success in this program for many years.

The district has educated students for 93 years and for much of those years students have walked to our single building, built in 1923. The school was remodeled a few years ago to accommodate a growing population and the students of Oxford have enjoyed a larger, refurbished facility since 2005.

Currently we have approximately 450 students in our district. Three hundred and ten Pre-School - Eighth grade students attend the Oxford Central School, and the remaining students attend Warren Hills Regional High School, Warren County Vocational-Technical School and schools outside of our district.

The district continues to explore techniques to improve the quality of education available to our students. From curriculum revision to additional extracurricular activities, we are constantly looking for ideas that will benefit our students and staff. This year the district will enjoy the benefits of a 1:1 Chromebook program for students in grades 5-8. The school board and administration are working together to bring proactive, positive change to the district.

In keeping with our philosophy of educating the whole child, we also work closely with our PTA and the Oxford Youth Association to provide facilities for their athletic programs and their activities. We host Girl Scouting and many clubs that provide varied experiences for the children of the district. Further information on the school, its’ programs and community can be found in the Oxford Central School profile.

Our district administrative team continually looks for ways to balance the high quality of services we provide for our students with prudent and responsible fiscal management. This includes: scaling back on bussing; utilizing energy audits to cut back on energy consumption; improving employee health and safety, thereby realizing savings on insurance premiums; keeping students in the district instead of out-of-district placements, working to create the OCS Education Foundation and utilizing our federal grant money more efficiently.
